Batteries should be discharged before recharging but we often find that as the battery runs down electric toothbrushes get slower and slower.
At this speed, it is simply not being efficient and therefore we ask our patients to regularly charge up the toothbrush.
Battery operated toothbrushes are not recommended as we find they are not cost-effective at all and a manual toothbrush with a good technique would be better.

Just to thank you all for the brilliant response to my acute dental emergency. All 3 dentists were excellent and you were able to provide 3 appointments on the day over 4 days to sort out the issue.
All the best
