Drinking only water at night.

At Oakthorpe Dental our focus is always on prevention. Preventing decay is always better than treating it.

Here is some preventative advice for all our patients:

• It is normal to get a dry mouth at night as saliva flow rates decrease while you sleep.
• If you do wake up in the middle of the night and feel thirsty the best drink to have is just plain water.
• Please do not reach for a sugary drink (even diluted) as this will increase the risk of decay.
